Thuraya Intercept and Logging System logs the location of MES operating within user-selected spot beams, and the telephone numbers with which they communicate (mobile originated calls). The system monitors the C-band return links from the MES, which are transmitted from the satellite as a single beam with global coverage. It also monitors the L-band control channels to identify active spot beams and L-band channels. System uses a scanning technique to identify C-band downlink frequencies for spot beams of interest.
